Supplementation questions
Could you address any precautions, if any, that are necessary with the supplements you have recommended? For example, if someone is on prescription medications or has a medical condition of any kind, is it advisable that they use something like nascent iodine or msm/nac? My experience with doctors is that they generally are not familiar at all with these supplements, so they aren’t able to give advice that makes sense to me. I am clear about the benefits of the supplements, but wondered if you could also talk about any precautions, dosage specifics (daily? weekly? how much?), etc. Are there any disadvantages or things we should be cautious of when taking any or all of the supplements?
When I take my pre juice supplements? I’ve been putting them in water (the iodine, cell food, GSE, etc.) And what is the timing for the probiotic supplement?
In the Extremely Green Detox we talked about Cell Food and Chloroxygen drops, but these didn’t come up on Wednesday’s call. Is it recommended to continue those?
Is it safe to take the Nascent iodine daily if we are already on thyroid medication?
I was also wondering if it’s ok to take nascent iodine while pregnant?
What are your thoughts and opinions on Diatomaceous earth instead of, or in addition to, bentonite clay?
Thoughts on magnesium powder like Natural Calm brand?
Could you comment on healing mushrooms in Chinese medicine, such as Chaga, quadriceps, reishi?
What is the recommended way to take oregano oil? It burns!
Does anyone have experience with the nascent iodine? I have thyroid issues and the last time I was tested in nov 2013 I was HYPERthyroid. I know iodine is good to take when you’re hypothyroid but it is still good to take when you have excess thyroid?
-The good news it that Nascent Iodine helps balance the thyroid, in both directions. It’s great that way. If it were me, I would start taking it right away
Could Natalia speak about the 12 cell salts she mentioned on Wednesday’s call? I assume they serve a different function than the 78 trace minerals in Cellfood. Is that correct?
On Organic Excellence Progesterone cream: can you recommend a particular spot on body to apply it? The face? Is more cream better than small doses?
What is the dosage for Nascent Iodine?
Do you have an opinion on Vivix resveratrol/phytonutrient cell rejuvenator (by Shaklee) for arthritis?
Do you suggest we rub castor oil on torso in the direction of the eliminatory path? Do you have a castor oil brand recommendation?
Colon cleansing and bowel health
What can I expect during and after my first colonic? Will I feel woozy or other side effects? Can I eat afterwards? Could I safely get on public transit immediately afterwards? I have also been told to drink high-potassium beverages after my colonic – what would you suggest?
Are coffee enemas ok, or are they not recommended by DTW?
You say microbes are needed to digest our food. Can you explain more about this? Don’t enemas and colonics wash away these beneficial microbes? Are enemas/colonics inhibiting proper digestion and assimilation?
Can you elaborate on wheatgrass implants?
Is there an at-home gravity-fed colonic machine/brand you’d recommend?
Would you consider quinoa to be constipating? After eating quinoa two nights in a row, I find I’m constipated.
What are your thoughts on taking Metamucil [psyllium, maltodextrin, citric acid] for constipation, as I have no experience with enemas, and would like to encourage bowel movements?
Are chia seeds helpful or obstructive to the bowels? I enjoy 1 tbsp. in my raw sweet potato and hazelnut milk smoothie, and wonder if they are helping or hindering bowel health.
Water
I’m wondering if you have any suggestions on what kind of water would be best to use for enemas/home colonics? Would the ozonator perhaps be a good option to purify, especially when travelling?
Questions regarding the water ozonator: It says to start with one glass a day but doesn’t give ounce instructions. Should I start with 8 ounces? Do I put supplements in the ozonated water, or is it best to have a pure glass of ozonated water? Any further protocol around the ozonated water?
If we are doing the ozonated water is it TOO much oxygen to be adding oxygen drops too?
What is the water solution for new york city?
-Mountain Valley spring water in the green glass bottles is great, but the water from the Pristine Hydro system is superb.
I found an Artesian Spring CSA in my area: how do I best test the water?
Dietetics (specific)
What category do mushrooms fit into? I see mushrooms in recipes in the Maximum Purification guide, but not in the list of categories for combining.
Could you address how to determine the correct amount of goat cheese for a single serving for your transition level?
Do chestnuts have a place here, and if so, do you have ideas for how to incorporate them?
Are raw yams still a starch? They’re not neutral because they’re raw, right?
-Natalia enjoys them as a neutral food when raw.
Is bee pollen yeast feeding?
Can I have comments on eating popcorn? This can be a snack at night, which seems a better step than being drawn into sweets.
Are cooked black beans ok? (i.e. does cooking destroy the lectins?) And once cooked, are they a good protein source?
-Legumes can have a place in the beginner’s detox lifestyle if you enjoy consuming them. As a rule of thumb, the smaller, the easier to digest – so lentils would be the best choice in this category. Inherently, legumes are mis-combined because they are both a protein and a starch, but in the water containing context of salads and other cooked vegetables most can get away with having the smaller varieties. If you would like to make the most of the nutritional value, and help with digestion, soaking the legumes in water will release the enzyme inhibitors. Cooking will not do the same thing. Overall, I highly encourage you to not be concerned with protein sources because the lifestyle inherently ensures the body gets everything it needs.
I’m trying to get a handle on the light to heavy eating, because by 3pm I’m starving and, right now, my stomach needs more than just green juice, carrots, or salad. If I eat something “heavy” like cooked beans or almond butter or plain almonds, does this mean that I should NOT have raw vegetables/salad/green juice afterwards for the rest of the day?
-It sounds like you need to make your lunchtime/afternoon meal more hearty. If you are doing an all raw salad, with say a nut/seed based dressing, or avocado, you could follow up with one of the shakes/raw soups suggested in the booklet, as a dessert, or you could even have your shake/raw soup before your lunch salad, pushing your meal later into the day, where you might want to follow your salad with a cooked vegetable soup (lentil soup is ok), add steamed veggies to your salad, or in the case of an avocado salad, a baked sweet potato could be great too. If you want to include raw nuts as a snack mid day, just be sure to have them with some crudite, and limit yourself to a handful to make sure you don’t over-eat on these super dense little guys. Be mindful of allowing enough transit time between meals too, especially if you are switching categories – So after you have your crudite and raw almonds, be sure to allow 3-4 hours before having a starchy dinner. You should not be starving yourself – instead, find creative ways to satisfy your hunger within the vegetable centric parameters of the cleanse
Regarding the fruit…. when you say “most people are dealing with yeast” do you mean in general everyone is and we don’t know it?
-Yes, yeast overgrowth, as well as other pathogens are fairly “standard” conditions for anyone living in the modern world because of environmental factors, prescription drugs, as well as food additives, including antibiotics and hormones. The safest approach is to avoid the foods that aggravate pathogens until we balance our terrain more.
How do you make the sunflower seed dressing with the seeds, not the butter?
-It is simple ~ 2(seeds):1(butter) swap out in the recipe, as long as you have a good enough blender that can easily break nuts down when combined with liquid. You can soak the seeds if you have time, to release the enzyme inhibitors. It is also beneficial for those with less powerful blenders. It is not mandatory to do for the dressing though.
How many baked beets is “too many” to eat in a sitting?
-I think as long as you are not over-eating (feeling stuffed), you don’t have to worry about the number of beets. I think I’ve eaten up to 6 medium/small ones before and felt great.
Can beets be combined in a salad with nut/seed butters?
-As long as you are not putting the neutral cooked veggies in hot, they digest quite well even with a nut/seed based dressing in your salad. I wouldn’t go as far as smearing nut butter on the cooked veggies though – This might be too dense depending on your cleansing level.
Coconut butter is an exception? Is it ok on hot cooked veggies?
-Coconut oil is ok on cooked veggies, in small amounts. The butter actually includes the pulp as well, and should be treated like we treat the other nut butters.
Could you add the wheatgrass to the greens you are juicing, (provided you have a juicer that juices wheatgrass) and get the benefits this way, without the intensity? I’m not there yet, but this has occurred to me for the future.
-If you are choosing to take it in – it is best to do so on an empty stomach, before you have your green juice. You can use your green juice as a chaser though.
Each day I have a smoothie made on coconut cream, water, berries, maca powder, 1 tsp of molasses, acai powder and a very clean vegan protein powder, normally in the afternoon when I begin to run out of steam. This is what I’m finding hard to give up as it gives me long lasting energy. I am breastfeeding a 9 week old baby, and have 5 other kids to look after. I find I really struggle to keep my energy up. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this?
-You should try my AB&J smoothie – it would be a big upgrade from what you are having right now, and great for milk production! The recipe: 1 frozen banana, 1 tbsp almond butter, 5-10 romaine leaves, 1 cup water. Blend, then add 1/2 cup of fresh or frozen blueberries and pulse a few times. It is divine. Another variation would be young coconut milk (meat & water blended), banana, spinach, vanilla bean (optional) & cinnamon, optional blueberries. I definitely advise leaving the protein powder behind. You will have plenty of protein from greens, nuts & seeds and any animal protein you chose to include – not to say that you need it – as Natalia mentioned before, we are after life force and vitality, not calories or protein gram. You will have way more energy by focusing on the non-dehydrated plant foods!
How do bananas combine as I see one of the smoothie recipes includes almond butter?
-Bananas and almond butter are a match made in heaven! Bananas are very compatible with nuts/seeds. In shakes though, most can get away with even a bit of berries or other fruit with nut milks or a bit of raw nut butter.
I’ve been enjoying plain goat’s milk yogurt. If this yogurt is in the animal protein category, does that mean that you can’t combine it with fruit? I like to make smoothies out of almond milk, banana, fruit and yogurt; but I’m assuming that I shouldn’t combine animal protein (yogurt) with fruit. Am I correct?
-You are correct! You can mix the yogurt with lemon juice to make a delicious salad dressing. For your smoothies you can add young coconut meat instead of yogurt to give it a similar creamy texture.
What about non-dairy yogurt like coconut milk yogurt or almond milk yogurt? How does mixing apply with that? Also, if add berries to a salad, does that mean I can’t also add almonds or other nuts because I’m not supposed to mix vegetables, fruits and nuts?
You may also enjoy your yogurt after an animal protein meal, as dessert, with a little stevia, or plain. If you want to have it as a snack in the middle of the day, I advise you to have a carrot or some other crudités before having your yogurt for best digestion. Just watch out for preservatives and additives in the coconut and almond milk yogurts. They do combine in the dried fruit/nuts/seeds category. You might get away with the coconut yogurt in your smoothies in the beginning, but you will soon see that it will slow the digestion down a little too much since it’s not a fresh fruit. Exotic Superfoods has organic coconut meat frozen in a bag for easy use, and it would be perfect for your smoothies. If you add fruit to a salad, it is best to keep it simply leafy greens and the fruit, for food combining purposes. If you wanted to have a handful of nuts in your salad, then you can have a bigger array of raw vegetables, as well as some dried fruit, if you are a beginner and looking for that sweet element. However, Natalia has something she refers to as “fruit salad” that is just using vegetables – cut up tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, your favorite herbs and put them over a bed of greens and dress with lemon juice, avocado cubes and stevia. This might get you the desired effect you are looking for.
The NRI team stated we can have up to 2 avocados/day, or 3-4 TBS/day of nut/seed butters. What about the boundaries around goat cheese? How many ounces? Also, should goat cheese be eaten no more than one time per week?
Is there a comprehensive vegetable list somewhere that labels neutral and starch vegetables in order of water content? I didn’t know Parsnips were neutral, and that just changed my life!
I’m new to juicing and am trying out some of Natalia’s recipes daily since start of the pre-cleanse and have a question. I am wanting to try the young coconut that she talks about in several recipes. I went and bought a young coconut (white knob-like wrapped in clear plastic). Is this the coconut meat? How long does it last after purchase, and how do I prepare it? In one recipe she said to use the water and meat of one coconut. There is no water in my young coconut, should I add coconut water?
How do you prepare fish at home?
What if you still crave meat?
Can “flesh” category foods be combined, for example, goat cheese and an omelette?

After our green drink, how much time do we wait before eating a salad?
I would love some insight on long term juice feasting. It seems like many people add in a lot of fruit juice, but my question is, does that feed yeast, and then continue feeding yeast as the person continues to drink more fruit juice?
What are Natalia’s thoughts on Gerson therapy?
I am cleansing kidney stones. Do you have any recipe suggestions that don’t include dairy, sweet potato, beets, leeks, or flesh?
What do you think about EMF in portable infrared saunas? Do you think we should be concerned about it?
If I’m perimenopausal, aren’t the phytoestrogens in soy beneficial?
–Soy and soy products are not beneficial because they undermine the body’s wellbeing in other ways (they are abundantly mucus-forming, difficult to digest, gas producing, acidic, and the products made from soy are highly processed). If you are after phytoestrogens in foods, enjoy raw and baked yams as we do at NRI to our hearts’ content. Alfalfa and clover sprouts also contain high levels of phytoestrogens. But most importantly, we are not trying to put phytoestrogens into the body after menopause in order to replace lost estrogen. That is the misguided approach that led to the popular allopathic use of estrogen replacement therapy (you can read about this in Natalia’s interviews in Forever Beautiful). Rather, the goal is to clean the cells, tissues and systems of the body so the body can naturally function optimally (the endocrine system included and especially). It is not as black and white as replacing estrogen. There are many different kinds of estrogen and in most cases it is more important to use a natural progesterone cream (temporarily) for rebalancing estrogen rather than estrogen itself. Cleansing is the most beneficial thing you can do as you transition through this beautiful life stage.
I have been eating a lot of raw food since my colonic on Tuesday and I have another one tomorrow, but I have not been having good BMs and my enema kit hasn’t arrived in the mail yet. Is there anything I can eat, drink, or take supplementally to encourage a release? I am going to be incorporating more cooked foods today because I’m feeling so lethargic. I work until 2am, and I know coffee is a “no-no,” but I need something to keep me stimulated and awake. I was wondering if a cup of green tea or Yerba mate would be ok as a transition tool. I need to be awake with energy to do strenuous lifting and exercise and the detox is making me feel sluggish. Also, I had a banana in a smoothie yesterday. Is that probably the cause of the”hold up?” I know fruit is not supposed to be for beginners like me.
-Answer from a fellow participant: I have a suggestion for part of your question. To get things moving: BEETS! That’s one of the reasons we like them so much. My favorite thing right now is baked beets with sautéed greens. I do have an enema kit, but I’m a 3 hour drive from my normal colon therapist, so I’m just relying on enemas this week. The beets and greens are tremendously helpful. Natalia suggested Triphala , an Ayurvedic product, from source naturals. Also fleet enemas from the drug store – only make sure to dump the saline solution and add pure water instead. You could take the nascent iodine in the afternoon or early evening to get you going until 2am. It works on your thyroid and puts everything in motion. Plus you could have another green juice. Caffeinated teas are just “false fire” you will have some stimulated energy and then crash and that will make it harder to let the coffee habit go (if that’s what you want to do).
Follow-up question:Do raw beets work the same way? Also I don’t normally drink coffee I am just feeling extremely fatigued since starting the cleanse- I’m sure that will fade after my next colonic though
-It will likely go away soon and definitely after your colonic! Yes, raw beets work too!
Is it normal for my period to start a whopping 2 weeks early during detox? Mine showing up was quite a surprise, as last time I did a cleanse it disappeared for a couple months, so I’m confused.
-Yes, that can happen while the body is regulating. The natural progesterone cream is good at getting your hormones balanced out. It just takes a few months.
I have recently been diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia and fast track gastric emptying! This could be why I am malabsorbing and unable to gain weight yet eating a very nutritious diet. I get much bloating, gas, pain and nausea as I have slow transit time in the large intestine. I have colonics at the moment once a fortnight and carry out coffee enemas. I have been told I should eat every two hours! What are your thoughts? I always have a green juice (no fruit) first thing, but have to have a smoothie soon after as feel very lightheaded. I have been miscombining, as I feel better when I mix seeds with a carbohydrate or hemp protein powder (not keen on powders but trying different things) but will end up feeling uncomfortable after a full day of eating.
Every time I drink wheat grass I get sick to my stomach. This does not happen with green juice. Any ideas as to why this could be happening?
-Wheatgrass is very cleansing. I suggest taking in less wheatgrass, and less often for a while until you feel you can build it up. It is an “advanced cleanser” tool. I also suggest being very present and grateful to your wheatgrass and setting a clear intention of what you would like for it to do in the body.
Suggestions for a process to juicing? I struggle to do it as it takes such a long time. Do you juice big batches and store, or juice daily? If you have any tips on washing and storing greens and juicing vegies, that would be great.
-Answer from fellow participant: Juicing can take a little longer in a slow juicer, but not 3 hours. Which juicer do you have? I recommend getting out all of the veggies you want to juice. It seems like several days worth will be appropriate for your situation. Quickly chop all the veggies into 1 inch pieces/strips – no need to be precise here. You can even leave kale, celery, romaine, and herbs in their bunches – no need to separate all the leaves and stalks before cutting. Then you can throw them in a strainer to give them a good rinse, and plop them in a towel next to your juicer. Process all the veggies through the juicer, alternating the type of veggie you’re putting in. As you fill up the pitcher, dump it out into a larger pitcher or punch/salad bowl. Once you process everything you can dispense daily portions of juice into glass jars, BPA free bottles, or even freezer bags, and put them in your freezer to have for the next few days. Frozen juice still retains much of its life force, and it’s a much better option than no juice at all. I hope that helps! It usually takes about an hour to do this from start to finish, and I end up with 3-4 days worth of juice.
Do you know a successful fenugreek user, and have you heard of Toco Magico brand? Henna doesn’t cover gray, unfortunately. What hair color product could you recommend?
Would it be wise during this course to do a liver cleanse, per instructions of Andreas Moritz?
During a scan, I was told that I have lots of gallstones. I did try the apple/garlic 3-day course from Hippocrates, which didn’t bring out anything. I would really like to hear your opinion on this.
-The core protocol we outlined cleanses the whole system, so there is no need to introduce a different cleanse to support the liver. We cannot cleanse pieces of the whole – we are operating in Unity Consciousness and know that everything is interconnected. Stick to the core protocol as much as possible and your liver, as well as the rest of your body, will thank you!
What is everyone’s favorite green juice recipes on a budget?
-Answers from participants: From the Extremely Green Detox, I recall someone stating a less expensive version is: 1 head celery, 1/2 head dino kale, 2 medium cucumbers, 1 lemon. This will make 32 ounces. I haven’t made my own green juice in a very long time (I buy it), and I’m excited to try this low cost version myself.
1 head celery, 1/2 head dino kale, 1 head romaine, 1 knob ginger, juice of 3 lemons, stevia …
I usually use cucumber, romaine lettuce, celery, carrots (one), lemon, kale, spinach, and on occasion, a green apple.
How do you all store your fresh herbs so they last a week? I have cilantro, basil, dill, mint, and Italian parsley here. I’m lucky that there is a farmers market 20 min away where I can get all this for $5, but I find that they don’t last more than a few days if I store them in the grocery plastic bags they come home in.
-Participant responses: I have had things last a lot longer by putting a paper towel around the greens inside the plastic bag. There are also plastic bags for produce that have holes in them – for breathing.
With cut fresh herbs I store them individually in ziplock bags, lie them flat and with both hands gently but firmly press all the air out just before finishing sealing it completely. Then lie them flat in my very cold fridge. They last a lot longer including the cilantro! Make sure they are completely dry of any water if rinsing.
I actually put my fresh herbs in a glass with a little bit of water and then use the produce bag to cover it from the top. That’s what florists do to make cut flowers live longer and it works for herbs as well
If you wrap them in a damp paper towel, and then put them into those green produce bags (Debbie Meyers?) – they last quite a while.
Green Bags as seen on TV, they really work.
Wrap them in damp (not wet) paper towels and place them in a zip lock bag in the fridge! They last quite a bit longer!
Stay fresh longer bags from Lakeland – they do the job
I am an advanced cleanser, my life has been radically transformed by this detox lifestyle, but alas, I have an arch nemesis of spinal and nerve pain due to injuries and a degenerating spine. I wanted to know if you would give me some specific pointers for reversing osteoporosis. Have you seen this in your practice Natalia Rose…Thank you!
What is the best sleep orientation: imagine bed from aerial view, head at South? West? East? (when I read to ‘face’ a direction, I wonder exactly what it means)
Between the end of eating & lying down for bed, how many hours is best? The same time guidelines given for inversion after eating?
Five Tibetan Rites: stop between rites or non-stop? I’ve seen both.
What is the optimal sequence for infrared sauna/colonic/inversion?
How many minutes daily in infrared sauna is optimal (green-centric/super alkaline diet)? Is there a minimum/maximum?
What affordable, personal use microscope do you recommend? How do we best learn to read one’s own blood?
Do you have an opinion on the infrared Migun Bed/Migun Mat?
-(Answer from Natalia Rose Institute) I love using my Migun mat. The penetrating infrared heat quickly alleviates any back pain (like after moving or long flights), and I use it often to soothe knee pain from an injury.
Questions for Anita
What are food allergies ? How do they arise? Does the Maximum Purification course address them?
I wanted to ask if there was an affirmation to say or meditation to partake in to elevate the vibration/energy of your juice or meals if you are unable to get organic every time. I am struggling to buy only organic, so thought there may be something else I could do to help.
–The wheels in that process are very powerful, and when I can’t get organic I add a contemplation of celebration to the deva of the non-organic food and focus on all those who honor nature through organics…asking it to upgrade.
I had an interesting experience last night. I listened to the meditation before bed and slept beautifully. Except toward the morning, I had a vivid, horrific nightmare where plain-clothed terrorists were shooting people and I was hiding with my two year old, trying to leave the area. It was truly horrible! I haven’t had a nightmare in years! Can anyone with dream interpretation skills help me understand why I may have had this sort of experience on the first day of my new routine?
-Similar to the way waste matter leaves through the colonic tube, things like this can be viewed as a mere cleansing as well. Do not get attached to the dream any more than you would attach yourself to the waste matter going down the drain. Just praise the fact that it is clearing; it is up and out and gone and done and over, and just be present to yourself in to moment. Listen to an elixir as that will help with grounding and presenting.
The clearing work that we are doing is very potent…even more that I know. I will address this issue in a post, as clearing through dreams will become even more common when everyone does the Arastma breathing.
Even just following the 7 breaths routine is hard! That feels like it needs its own 6 week course. You know what it is for me? It’s that the information needed for any one thing has to be cross referenced to several different files or locations. It’s too scattered for me. With everything else we have to do it’s just a lot!
-A great tip when in overwhelm is to focus on one detail. This works for overwhelm in any area of life. Overwhelm is a type of ‘shock,’ and it causes muddled thinking, going around in circles, etc. but it also dims consciousness and drops the vibrational level. Low vibe = acidic inner terrain.
When you focus on the one detail you accomplish several things:
-
1- maintain your vibratory and consciousness level steady…you ‘ride the wave’.
-
2- you get things in forward motion
Your deeper consciousness knows how to move life gracefully. Overwhelm prevents the deeper currents from moving you….it takes you out of the flow. Focusing on one detail keeps you steady, and the discomfort will pass, because you are actually moving things forward through the detail.
So bringing it to overwhelm with the material, have a go-to exercise. One suggestion is to use the short (13 min) audio Purification 2 – Clearing_Reforming Bacteria (in the library of short audios). It’s a blend of archangelic elixirs that bring in the vibe of bliss, which is the frequency to reform harmful bacteria. When in overwhelm of any other negative states (anti-bliss, if you will) you are prone to invaders. But it works to bring you to a state of alkalinity as well, so you are moving forward in purification. You don’t have to feel bliss either…just feel the vibes of the elixir in your body.
I am trying the wheels to enhance the frequency if food, including the one to remove radiation, on my water at work. I work in telecommunications, so our building is wired and wi-fi’ed to he max. Anita Lucia Briggs, what are your thoughts on using these wheels for water?
-Yes! you can use them on everything that you ingest. I am going to be making sigils on sticky plastic dots for cells phones, computers, and the body too. We need to be more mindful with all the invisible disruptive forces. The video on cell phones that Natalia posted is very revealing…but there is much that we can do.
